Case Study - Warehouse & Recycling Facility
Cabling, Access Control & CCTV for a Mississauga Recycling Facility
A national e-waste recycler brought in Citadel for a new network, access control, and security camera installation at its Mississauga facility.
The project included network cabling infrastructure, Unifi access control for keyless entry, and a Uniview CCTV system covering the inside and outside of the building.

The Starting Point
One Facility, Three Systems to Install
The client needed reliable network, entry, and camera systems to support daily operations at its Mississauga location. The warehouse and office each had their own access needs, and the building required camera coverage both inside and around the exterior.
E-waste facilities handle a steady flow of incoming electronics, many of which can contain stored data or valuable materials. Controlling who enters the warehouse, and keeping a visual record of activity on site, may help protect both the material and the people working with it.
The client also wanted all three systems running on a solid network foundation, so each one could be managed and expanded as operations grow.
Our Solution
Network, Access Control & CCTV Under One Roof
Citadel installed the network cabling infrastructure that the access control and camera systems run on. We added Unifi access control for keyless entry to the warehouse and office areas.
A Uniview CCTV system was installed for monitoring and safety inside and around the building.
Planning the three systems together allowed cabling routes, equipment locations, and network setup to be coordinated from the start.

Project Process
How the Three Systems Came Together
Site Survey
-
Our team walked the warehouse and office to plan cable routes, network rack placement, door locations, and camera positions.
-
We reviewed which areas needed restricted entry and where camera coverage mattered most for safety.
Network Infrastructure
-
Structured cabling was installed first, so the access control and camera systems had a solid base to connect to.
-
Cable runs were organized and labelled to keep future changes or additions easier to manage.
Access Control & Cameras
-
Unifi access control was installed at the warehouse and office entry points for keyless entry.
-
Uniview cameras were mounted inside and around the building, with angles set to cover entrances, work areas, and the exterior.
Testing & Handover
-
Each cable run, door reader, and camera was tested before handover.
-
We showed the client’s team how to manage user access and review footage, and remain available for support.
Project Highlights
What the Installation Includes
The completed installation gave the client a connected network, controlled entry, and camera coverage across its Mississauga facility. Each system was planned around how the warehouse and office operate day to day. Here’s what the project included.
Infrastructure
Structured cabling forms the base of the building’s network, connecting the office, warehouse, cameras, and access control devices to one organized system.
Keyless Entry
Unifi Access Control
Staff can enter the warehouse and office without keys. Access is managed from one platform, which may help simplify adding or removing team members.
Monitoring & Safety
Uniview CCTV
Cameras cover the inside and outside of the building. Recorded footage may help with safety checks, incident reviews, and monitoring the property.

Project Scope
Services Used in This Project
Each service can be delivered on its own, but planning them together often makes sense for warehouse and industrial sites. Running network, access control, and cameras through one installation partner may help avoid rework and keep the project on schedule.
